About Me
My name is Anni Sezate and I am an ASU graduate with a BA in Elementary Education. For ten years I was a school teacher, teaching first, third, and forth grade. I taught at charter and public schools with students of all ability levels and backgrounds. I have extensive experience differentiating instruction to best fit the learner, and providing helpful feedback in a way that is both supportive and compassionate.
My music journey is a little different than most piano teachers. I started off taking piano lessons as a child and continued through high school. I played the flute and took dance lessons as well. Eventually I started taking voice lessons and that’s when I discovered the magic of theater. Musical theater is a huge passion of mine, and I loved to sing and dance on stage. I became involved in community theater and in college participated in a play at the Hale Centre Theater. While at ASU I studied music for a time and continued to hone my abilities in voice, piano, and acting. I eventually switched my major back to Elementary Education when I realized that my true passion is teaching.
A teacher at heart, and a lover of music, I know that I can teach you all you need to know about piano. I’m patient and quirky too, so no need to worry about a teacher that will shame you for making mistakes! Just try your best and we will accomplish great things together!
